1. Prep the nail: push back cuticles, buff lightly, wipe with cleanser and apply your base coat, then cure under your UV/LED lamp for the time your lamp recommends. 2. Fit a nail form or dual form to the finger. 3. Cut a bead of poly gel from the tube and place it on the form. 4. Dip your spatula or brush in slip solution — never water — and pat the gel into shape. Re-dip whenever it starts to stick. Slip solution is what makes poly gel spreadable; without it the gel drags. 5. Shape the apex and edges, then cure under your UV/LED lamp for the time your lamp recommends. 6. Remove the form, then file and refine the shape. 7. Apply top coat and cure. Tip: keep the layer thin at the cuticle and build strength at the stress point.
