1. Prep the nail: push back cuticles, lightly buff the surface and wipe with cleanser so nothing lifts. 2. Apply your base coat and cure under your UV/LED lamp for the time your lamp recommends. 3. Apply a thin, even layer of the cat-eye gel. Thin is important — a thick layer wrinkles and the magnetic effect blurs. 4. Before curing, hold the magnet close to the nail (almost touching, without touching) for 5–10 seconds. Move it slowly to draw the light line where you want it. Tilt the magnet for a wider band, hold it flat for a sharp line. 5. Cure under your UV/LED lamp for the time your lamp recommends. 6. Repeat with a second thin layer if you want a deeper effect, magnetising again before curing. 7. Finish with top coat and cure. Tip: work one nail at a time — the magnet only shapes the gel while it is still wet.
